Man I would love to go to an Aurora concert like this. You have to deal with tweens screaming their asses off and talking loudly through every concert in the states. I still loved it, but this concert is like its just you and her.
You can tell Aurora was somewhere else throughout that whole song. The way she let her self go, the way she looks with her eyes.. closing her eyes. Reason why I was drawin into her 🤩🤌🏽.
She has covered legends like Bob Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man, John Lennon's Across The Universe, David Bowie's Life On Mars, Simon and Garfunkel's Scarborough Fair. Now Leonard Cohen's Famous Blue Raincoat and So Long Marianne. She nails it all. Truly an old soul 💜 I hope she covers Joni Mitchell as well.
I support her since 2016 and I love all of her Music! My biggest wish on Christmas 2017 got true. My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas and i commented on her picture on Facebook and she likes it on Christmas I startet to crying and was like omg she knows that i exist!! Thank you Aurora so much you calm my depression!
Famous Blue Raincoat Aurora Aksnes cover It's four in the morning, the end of December I'm writing you now just to see if you're better New York is cold, but I like where I'm living There's music on Clinton Street all through the evening I hear that you're building your little house deep in the desert You're living for nothing now, I hope you're keeping some kind of record Yes, and Jane came by with a lock of your hair She said that you gave it to her That night when you planned to go clear Did you ever go clear? Last time I saw you you looked so much older Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder You'd been to the stations to meet every train there, and You came back without Lili Marlene You treated my woman to a flake of your life And when she came back she was nobody's wife Yes I see you there with the rose in your teeth One more thin gypsy thief Well, I see Jane's awake She sends her regards And what can I tell you my brother, my killer What can I possibly say? Wel, I guess that I miss you, I guess I forgive you I'm glad that you stood in my way If you ever come by here, for Jane or for me Well, your enemy is sleeping, and his woman is free Yes, and thanks, for the trouble you took from her eyes I thought it was there for good so I never tried And Jane came by with a lock of your hair She said that you gave it to her That night when you planned to go clear Sincerely, L Cohen
There are so many songs like this -- all but forgotten today -- that Aurora could try. "La Colombe" is one. I wonder what Aurora would do with "Pirate Jenny" from One Penny Opera?
One of my favourite Cohen songs. She brings another quality to this song and I am sure Leonard would have appreciated her rendition. This song must be fifty years old. I recall hearing Cohen for the first time. In 1971 I was fourteen years old and blown away by the album, in particular this song and Joan of Arc. It opened my ears to real poetry but also loss and tragedy. Superb.
@@yourmissingc0ckring759 In speaking, she uses neither, she speaks the dialect of Bergen, which is called _Bergensk_ , but with some very tiny hints that she may be from just outside Bergen rather than from inside the city itself. I am from Bergen myself, and I think most Norwegians would just detect her speech as being 100 % Bergensk, but it's more like 99.9 %. In writing, she probably uses Bokmål, but Nynorsk may have been her main written form when going to school, since the municipality where she grew up chose to have Nynorsk as its official written standard. While in Bergen, the municipality is officially neutral but in practice almost entirely Bokmål-centric. In general, in Norway dialects have a high status, and they can be quite different from both of the two written forms, Bokmål and Nynorsk. There are hundreds of dialects, and people use them in all situations, also formal situations.
I would love if she were to cover Queen's Love Of My Life - it would sound so glorious in her voice (I mean, it sounded like an angel had come to Earth when Freddie sang it too!)
it makes me so sad to see so many bad comments about the way she performs. she does this all the time, the hands, the eyes, the arms. she's not being disrespectful towards cohen because that'd means she's being disrespectful towards her own art
This was gorgeous
Crazy beautiful! 🥶🎶🥺
I'm in tears
Love her too much
Do taty i zgolić włosy na łyso. Tacie,śliczna moja.
Came here just to hear her speaking norwegian. She sounds so beautiful and suddenly feel like an entire album in norwegian could be delightful
she's really something else, hope she stays true to her art

Wow! I would love to hear her do more Cohen, like "If it be your will"
Aurora, I adore you to many more walks within and without.

I dont think Norwegian sounds weird at all!

Hearing her songs in English it's hard to remember her native language is Norwegian. She's so beautiful
Why Norwegian sounds so good??
Sie hat so eine tolle Stimme, tolle Version.
Interesting.
I think I'm in love
Should this title be considered clickbait?

Can you imagine Aurora and Eivør singing this song together!? 💙
Amazing how a single, minor melodic note tweak in the phrase beginning 5:09 can imbue the song with Aurora magic.
Just great, but how about some context? Where? When?

And a tribute concert to Leonard Cohen

I absolutely adore how aurora is pronounced in Norwegian ! It even seems more fitting to her that way !
Her norwegian sounds different than what i have ever heard
Because she is from Bergen, or rather just outside, but speaks the Bergen dialect, which is very distinctive (I speak it myself).
Because she is from a region of norway know as Bergen, in there the dialect sounds different
@@eckligt does she use Bokmål or Nynorsk?

@@eckligt Which one is easier? Which one's more "pure Norwegian" (less Danish influence)?
wow i love this language
Her voice is like food for soul
I am from Norway
if you listen hard enough norweigian sounds a bit like english words
I would love if she were to cover Queen's Love Of My Life - it would sound so glorious in her voice (I mean, it sounded like an angel had come to Earth when Freddie sang it too!)
Incredible intensity. This blows my mind.

Wonderous 🥳👍
her sweet bergen-dialect <3
She is more than legendary.
